DANA Gets Fresh Investment from 01Fintech as It Pushes Digital Payment Across Indonesia

More good news out of Indonesia’s fintech sector!

Digital wallet platform DANA just landed fresh investment from 01Fintech, a Singapore-based private equity firm founded by a former Ant Group executive. The amount of investment remains undisclosed.

DANA’s been around since 2018, running a digital payment platform built around QRIS, money transfers, and merchant tools. Its reach extends beyond big cities, serving MSMEs across smaller cities nationwide.

Per the official announcement, both companies plan to explore lending and working capital solutions for MSMEs, which will open the door to a wider reach of products like micro-insurance and digital savings down the line.

Cross-border payments are also on the table, something DANA hopes to build out by tapping into 01Fintech’s regional network.

“Together, we remain focused on strengthening our core platform, supporting everyday merchants, and providing trusted financial tools to communities across Indonesia,” said Vince Iswara, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of DANA, as reported by Fintech Indonesia.

Digital payments were among the early spark of Indonesia’s fintech boom, with major players like GoPay, OVO, and ShopeePay helping drive the shift toward cashless transactions. As digital adoption climbs, the payment ecosystem has expanded beyond digital wallets, with QR-based payments becoming embedded.

As we covered in our earlier digest, QRIS has helped connect different payment platforms and the integration with digital wallets marked an important turning point. Not just for how consumers pay, but also help lower the barrier for MSMEs getting into formal financial access.

The growing adoption reflects this broader shift. Bank Indonesia reported digital payment transactions hit 5.5 billion in July, up 28.69% YoY, driven by wider adoption and acceptance of digital payment.

Prior to this round, DANA had already drawn backing from major institutions, including EMTEK Group, Sinar Mas Group, and Lazada, pushing its mission to bridge access gaps for underserved communities.
